Getting
to Hostal Los Toros B&B:
From Puerto Vallarta/Barra de Navidad/Melaque/Manzanillo Airport
(Playa de Oro)
From Guadalajara
From Colima Bus Station
From Puerto Vallarta/Barra de Navidad/Melaque/Manzanillo Airport
(Playa de Oro):
- Drive time
from Manzanillo airport to Comala is about 1 and a half hours.
- Head south
on MEX200toward Manzanillo.
- Go 18kms
to a sign for Colima on the left.
- Follow
that turn-off for 19kms (still MEX200) to the tollbooth (they
don't charge a toll any more).
- Stay on
MEX200 for 22kms to the next toll (MX$100) near Tecoman.
- Go under
an overpass, and follow signs to Colima to the left (changes
to MEX110).
- Stay on
MEX110 for 50kms until you see a Pemex gas station on your left.
- Turn left
(sign indicates Coquimatlan, road called Libramiento).
- Follow
the road around a curve to the right, keep straight, cross canal
and railroad tracks.
- At traffic
light, turn right (Carretera Colima-Pueblo de Juarez, not marked).
- Go one
long block to a large intersection. At the light, turn left
(Benito Juarez).
- Take Benito
Juarez north. Pass through Villa de Alvarez, changes into Ave
Enrique Corona Morfin.
- You will
pass a shopping center on right (Soriana, Famsa).
- Get to
a large modern cubist fountain/statue in a traffic circle; go
around the traffic circle, staying straight.
- Get to
another traffic circle, with a statue of two dancing dogs (famous
landmark).
- Go around
circle but stay straight, following signs to Comala. Road changes
to Carr. Colima-Comala.
- Go about
7kms, road curves to the right, pass a large restaurant on left
(Don Comalon), then another on right.
- Stay straight
and enter Comala, past the Kiosko (convenience store) on your
left.
- Keep straight
(Venustiano Carranza changes to Ignacio Allende, then Hidalgo).
- Pass a
green building on the left (Casa de Cultura), then go left on
Reforma/Constitucion.
- Go two
blocks then cross a steep bridge; go 5 blocks then go left on
Insurgentes.
- Go south
three blocks to Insurgentes #54. Welcome to Hostal Los Toros
B&B! [map]
From Guadalajara:
- Drive
time from Guadalajara to Comala is about 2 hours.
- Take the
toll road (MEX54) from the southwest corner of Guadalajara,
toward Colima.
- Pay two
tolls of MX$89 each.
- When you
approach Colima, stay in the right lane and follow signs for
Colima to the right (not Manzanillo).
- At the
first traffic light in Colima (Fiesta Inn on your right, very
modern statue of a crouching man).
- Go right
on the Tercer Anillo Periferico (“Third peripheral ring
road”).
- Keep straight
until you get to a statue of two dancing dogs (famous landmark).
- Go right,
following signs to Comala (Carr. Colima-Comala).
- Go about
7kms, road curves to the right, pass a large restaurant on left
(Don Comalon), then another on right.
- Stay straight
and enter Comala, past the Kiosko (convenience store) on your

taxi ticket from the official taxi stand for Comala (around
MX$90).
- When you
